In Murhisalo there are old-growth forest, mires, lakes and streams in their natural state. From dry pine forests to herb-rich woodlands, from aapa mires to rich fens. Since ancient times Murhisalo has been the traditional hunting and fishing area of the unique Viena Karelian villages Hietajärvi and Kuivajärvi. 6548 hectares.
