60 kilometers to the north of the Suomussalmi center.

Martinselkonen is a 6000 ha large untouched nature
preserve area next to the Russian border. It is an
excellent place for hiking, fishing, picking berries,
nature photographing, boating, canoeing and cross
country skiing.

There are five double rooms and two single rooms in the main building. Almost all the rooms have their own showers and toilets. The rooms upstairs can be combined into apartment that have their own kitchens. Additionally, there is a shared kitchen upstairs.

In the annex building completed in the spring of 2008, there are seven double rooms. All rooms are equipped with their own showers and toilets. Additionally, there is a common room with a kitchen and an equipment drying room in the building.
